Decorating a living room that is very long?
I have a a long living room and need some help with decor ideas.I have the same problem in my house, and my solution was to find different, creative things to place on the walls and break the room into sections with furniture.
I broke up my seating area from a small library/reading nook with a huge area rug for each. I have mocha colored walls, so I put a big chocolate brown contemporary area rug like this one in the TV area and I did another rug of the same size and almost the same color in the library area.
Small groupings of frames and art help fill the walls, as do shelves for your special items. I also added candle holders, mirrors, and have an aquarium taking up an entire corner. With a light over it, it's fairly eye catching and helps with that empty feel.
