Inexpensive teen bedroom decorating ideas?

Make it comfy and cozy. Add some nice lighting such as soft lamps or tea lights. Get a big bean bag chair or a comfy chair and create a corner nook for reading, surfing a lap top, or chatting on the phone.

Add a big fluffy area rug to your floor to sink your toes into on a cold day. Something like this Green Flokati area rug is in your color scheme and super cozy.

Chalkboard paint on your walls gives you a place to draw, leave messages, or work out homework problems. Add a frame around it so it stands out.

I have antique brown furniture in my bedroom and I want to re-decorate and make it a beach cottage theme?

I wouldn't touch the furniture, but I'd change everything else.

Pale blue with an offwhite ceiling is a great color combination for a cottage theme. You could also do an off white on the walls.

Because you have dark brown furniture, you need to lighten up in other ways.  A light blue duvet set with cream accents or an all white set will make your bed seem lighter.

On your windows, have sheer curtains as opposed to heavy drapes. You could also do wooden shutters, which will really add a cottage feel. If you can change your headboard, you can make one out of old shutters as well. Find a home store that sells shutters or an antique store to create a custom headboard.

If your rug conflicts with your theme or you have hardwood floor, add an area rug with colors that give you a cottage feel. Blue and silver would look great on the floor, and choosing a rug like this Silver and Blue area rug will warm up your room and detract from the dark wood.

Other small touches: Vases with sand and seashells or solid white picture frames with tiny shells glued to the edges. Cottage rooms are very basic, so don't overdo the accessories

Decorating my room. I NEED PICTURES!!!!!!?

dyn-aria1102_600.jpgDark wood floor boards looks great with blue. Go for a long board that is mahogany or deep, chocolate wood. If cost is an issue and you can't redo the floor, add a big area rug and cover up the tile. With blue, you can have a white, blue, brown, or tan area rug. Try something like this Brown and Aqua area rug. It looks great with blue walls, and it's contemporary enough to jazz up any room.

The best place to buy art work or posters is online. You can find web sites that specialize in posters, and often they have discounts if you buy more than one. Get them mounted before you ship or framed right online. Alternately, you could just buy the poster and send it to a local place for framing.

How can I redo my room without repainting it?

I'm wanting to go for more of a Victorian/steampunk look

Steampunk can only be described as the past meeting the future, so keep that in mind when decorating. You can keep the stripe on the walls if you are able to add some little extras.

Wall sconces add a Victorian feel. Add two to the wall behind your bed for reading. A big antique chandelier Throw a big area rug on your floor. Victorian homes made heavy use of area rugs, so choose one that works with your room like this Solid White area rug. With diagonal stripes on your walls, a solid area rug won't overwhelm the room.

Steampunk artwork, such as the Alice in Wonderland series by Amy Weber would look great on your walls.

Little touches would go a long way in a room like yours. Add some antique bottles from a flea market or find a cool set of old pictures with sepia tint to hang on your walls.
dyn-allure1906-900.jpgI'm not sure how you would mix the two together, but CoCo Chanel style is all about glitz and glamor. Sparkly chandeliers, beveled mirrors, toile, and pop art with fashion images.

Take a look at her actual apartment by googling her name, or find inspiration by leafing through pages of a fashion magazine.

She liked Chinese silk screens and wallpaper. You could add one wall of wallpaper and then a large area rug to your floor. Something like this would work, because she liked contemporary designs like this Allure Silver area rug. It's still beachy enough to look good in your room, but has a pretty pattern that would suit Mr.Chanel to a T.
