Decorating my baby's nursery?

I've done many nursery's and my advice to the parents is to first pick a piece you really like as a focal point for your nursery. Then, once you have that, decorate around it.
I'm partial to pulling colors or themes from area rugs, so I choose that first. For a girl, you could use a rug like this Butterfly area rug and do an entire room with hot pink, light pink, white, and gingham checks. For a boy, you could use a rug like this Take a ride boys area rug and take the blues for wall color and accessories.
The pictures you put up depend on your theme. For a butterfly room, you can find shadow boxes at Ikea for about $10. You can put craft butterfly's in there. You can also find posters online that have butterfly's, flowers, and pretty pink shades.
There are some great web sites with wall art that has cute baby sayings like "Sleep tight" or "Rock a bye baby".
