Help on redecorating my room?

I want to paint the walls a new color, probably a dark red

I've had a bright red room and it becomes a little harsh to sleep in. Dark red is beautiful, and really eye catching, but you become tired of it quickly. If possible stay far, far away from tomato reds and find a wine color or a rich, deep, warm red that you really like. If you worry about painting the entire room red, do a feature wall with the red color and the other colors a contrast.
