Desperately need help redecorating Teen room?

dyn-nolita-1310-090.jpgMy advice is to pick a hot pink color and repaint the entire room. Here's why: Hot pink goes great with black and white, and looks really amazing with zebra stripes. This is also a theme/color she won't outgrow anytime soon.

Choose a Behr paint color. Behr has great paint that doesn't show the smudges/handprints that others do. Oil from our hands often comes off when we touch the wall, so a high quality paint in a kids room is really important for combating the 'dirty wall' issues.

Use the Zebra as an accent for the pink. You can add a cool, large zebra print area rug or another animal print rug. It will contrast with the hot pink and really catch your eye when you walk in the room.

Add picture frames, fabric colored bulletin boards, and other knick knacks in the zebra theme.  You can make your own lamp shade to cover an existing lamp by choosing animal print material at your local fabric shop.

For your curtains, I'd go a solid color that blends with hot pink.

Because she's only 10 and still a little girl, add a large stuffed zebra for her to cuddle at night.  She'll love it!
