Dark grey and modern is the way to go

Since I have dark grey walls (Behr-Dark Ash) what color sofa, rug, AND curtains should I purchase?

FYI: I do NOT like traditional. I love modern/contemporary/abstract/"artsy" designs.

With a wall color that dark, you can either go very light or stay very dark. I would go navy for your couch, and stick to a contemporary/modern sectional type. No fluffy cushions, just clean lines.

I honestly think curtains in a room like that would be overkill, but if you do them stick to a darker color with a light pattern of some sort. I've seen dark grey curtains with a swirl pattern that would look great. Alternately, you can do roman blinds in the window in a shade or two up from your wall color, but be sure to get a pattern.

Get a rug that is artsy and modern, so you can pull your eye from your solid color couch to the floor. You could go with a red color area rug and accent the couch with red/blue cushions. Alternately, if you want funky and you have a alternate colored couch, you could do a glorious Ash colored shag area rug.

With your furniture and the wall color, you should have a really well put together room.  Have fun!
