Strong colors, such as dark green, deep blue, and vivid red are beautiful in living rooms.  When you add strong colors to a room, you will find that you need to be neutral in other areas. 

You have two choices in carpets: a full broadloom floor covering or a large area rug.  You can have the best of both worlds when you combine the two. 

With a room that has deep forest green walls, choose a neutral carpet such as beige or sandy brown.  To really pull out the color of your walls, choose an oriental area rug with forest green accents such as Ancient Garden Antique.  Oriental area rugs add such a warmth and elegance to your room, you can never go wrong with any tone or texture.  If you have red or deep blue accents or accessories in your room, you can also find an oriental rug accented with those colors.  The sky is the limit!
