RETURNS
We seldom have returns. Once a House Of Area Rug.com customer receives their rug they are generally thrilled and it is above and beyond their expectations.
However, if for any reason, you would like to return a rug, we will gladly provide a refund for items returned in their original condition within 15 days of receipt.
Please note that a 15% to 25% restocking fee applies for all returns and the customer is responsible for return shipping.
Before returning any rug:-
YOU MUST CONTACT US FOR A "RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER" email us at returns@houseofarearugs.com. Rugs returned without a return authorization number will be refused at the warehouse and sent back to the sender.
If you find that your shipment shows visible signs of damage on receipt, please attempt to open it in the presence of the driver. We recommend you refuse the delivery, document the damage on the shipping manifest and notify us immediately.
If you are not at home when the damaged shipment arrives, notify us immediately of the problem. Make sure you retain all packaging materials, document the damage, and if possible, take a photograph of the damaged package, as this can assist in the claims process. Damage due to shipping must be reported (returns@houseofarearugs.com) to us within 3 days of delivery.
Due to the handmade nature of some of our rugs there will be some small variations in size and yarn hue. These are not considered defects but part of the charm of a handmade item.
