Purple Area Rugs
Purple rugs are a particularly versatile home accessory that can be understated or flamboyant depending on the purple tone used and the other colors it is used with. Traditionally purple is associated with Royalty generally because only the very wealthy could afford the purple dye.
The color purple is made from a mixture of two very opposite colors; blue and red - this contributes to the fact that purple is often associated with mystery and spirituality. The hot, passion, energy and aggression of red combine with the cool, tranquil, calming, security of blue to produce the mystery of the color purple. It is also the color associated with dignity, wisdom, independence, and creativity.
Purple area rugs are great for decorating as you don't want to use too much purple – it's best used sparingly as an accent. Too much purple, can produce moodiness or gloom in your space. However a purple based room is said to boost a child's artistic creation and imagination.
From pastel lilac to amethyst to eggplant to velvety deep violet, purple rugs of all shades will add a sweet note of glamor to your room. Light purples suggest romance and femininity whilst deep, bright purples suggest riches and opulence.
For a warm color scheme choose the more red purples in your rug whilst for a cooler palette look towards the bluer purples to cool down.
For a unique look take a look at a refreshing purple rug.
