Jute is cultivated in Bangladesh and India and is the softest of all the natural fibers used in rug making. Because jute grows so readily it is an environmentally friendly, sustainable and renewable resource making it the ideal rug material for our ecological conscious homes.
The jute fibers have a fine, silky soft luster which gives off an illumination that brings a feel of brightness and life to any room. This soft feel of the jute rug makes it fantastic for bedrooms and sitting rooms.
Whilst the jute area rug is remarkably soft to the touch it is also surprisingly long-wearing – now it's not suggested for areas of heavy foot traffic but it does suits areas of moderate wear. The only areas they are not to be used in are rooms with high moisture levels like bathrooms and laundries; and they should also not be steam cleaned or washed.
The natural, earthy ambiance that these jute rugs inspire makes them the ideal home decorating accessory in Asian themed rooms and modern casual spaces.
For an all-natural decor you can't go past the natural beauty and durability of the jute area rug. Of all the natural materials available to produce area rugs from, jute is the softest under foot. So just because you choose a natural decor does not mean you need forgo luxury.
